Toastmasters International is an organization that is dedicated assisting individuals to become public speakers and leaders. This is accomplished through a series of local clubs throughout the world. Toastmasters clubs offer a safe environment in which you can practice the speaking skills that you are learning and be exposed to new skills. I highly recommend investigating a Toastmasters club near you. To find out more about Toastmasters International you can visit their website at http://www.toastmasters.org. Among the wealth of information that they have at their site, you can perform a search to find a local club. In addition, here are some clubs that I am aware of. Australia New South Wales Sydney 3440 - Professional Speakers Location: 95 York Street (Above the NSW Bowlers Club) Schedule: Every 1st and 3rd Tuesday Description: Professional Speakers has a "serious about better speaking" attitude balanced with a lot of humour and light-hearted banter. Ask for the Toastmasters meeting room at reception Schedule: 1st and 3rd Wednesday of the month, at 7.30pm Description: We are a club which believes that public speaking should be fun, and so our meetings usually resound with laughter. A number of experienced toastmasters are available to help and inspire, and our mentoring programme is designed to help the truly nervous.
